The Parking FAQ
We've compiled some answers to our most frequently asked parking questions. If you have a question that isn't answered here, please contact us.
Are there special rates if I park or work after 5 PM?Yes! Depending on the location most of our parking facilities offer special evening and weekend rates. These special parking rates are prominently displayed at the respective parking facilities.
What happens if the garage I parked in is closed when I return? Hours of our attended operation and closing times are prominently displayed as you enter all our parking garage facilities. Also prominently displayed will be contact information and after hour release costs. In some cases your car may not be available until the garage opens.
Is my online payment safe?Your security is of paramount importance to U-Park System. With our online payment system your private information is as safe and secure as possible. We are using the most advanced security mechanisms available to insure your information is protected.
Can my permit be used by someone else?Yes. As long as there is a current valid parking permit displayed in the automobile.
How do I sign up for monthly parking? You can apply online at our website, contact our onsite personnel, or come to or call our Seattle office to pick up or have a monthly parking application emailed, faxed or mailed to you.
What happens if my monthly permit or access card is lost or stolen? Individuals are responsible for the care and custody of their monthly parking permit or garage access device. If you should unfortunately lose your access device you will need to purchase a replacement. Upon request a duplicate permit will be issued and a $20 replacement fee will be charged. However, do not use the original permit if it is found. Anyone found using the original permit will be towed at owner’s expense.
What if I receive a parking notice? If you received a notice which you feel has been issued in error, you must respond in writing within 14 days of the date of the issuance of the notice. Only written appeals to notices will be accepted. If you decide to appeal a notice it should be done either to the address listed on the violation envelope or online via email at Notice@U-ParkSystem.com. Should you not respond within the 14 day period the issued parking notice is considered delinquent. Delinquent notices are then turned over to the Notice Department for processing
What will happen if I decide not pay the violation notice that was issued to me? U-Park lots are posted with our Parking Notice which sets forth the contract each parker agrees to and enters into when they park on a U-Park lot. This notice clearly sets forth that a $25.00 parking penalty fee will be added if payments are not received within 14 days. If the parking notice continues to go unpaid it will be forwarded to a third party collection agent for collection and this may subsequently have a negative impact on your credit history.
